Target Collab Items for Sale

Jason Wu for Target black cycle dress with pearls, size 6: I have worn this only once. I'd like to get $25 shipped, but make an offer.

Proenza Schouler for Target purple bustier dress, size 9: Worn a coupe of times back in the day, but unfortunately I think this dress is not for me, as pretty as it is. I'd like to get at least $20 shipped--make me an offer, though.

Erin Featherston for Target velvet jacket, size M: N oldie but a goodie. Still looks very good but I and is a brighter color than this pic would suggest. No longer fits me. Make me an offer for this one.

Richard Chai for Target skirt, size 9: This skirt is great but just a bit shorter than I'd like, so it's taking up room in my closet. This one I'll also take an offer on.

For all the above items, I can provide measurements upon request, as well as answer any questions about materials. etc. I will be putting up more non-collab clothes once I take some pictures. Thanks for looking!

The Golden Globes Red Carpet

So I skipped the Emmys because I got sick the next day, but I will try to be more consistent in the future. I usually read www.tomandlorenzo.com before I post and then end up saying the same stuff, so I tried to hold off on reading them before I did this. Enjoy!

Katherine McPhee in Theyskens Theory: I'm a straight lady but... hubba hubba. The dress has an interesting texture I didn't notice on TV. I'd have liked a pop of color in the accessories, but I like the relatively minimalist approach to jewelry--it would have been too much in addition to the cleavage. The shoes are a bit weird. 8.5/10

Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad: Wow, this feels like something she would have done ten years ago. I mean, Her bod is still slammin', but I just can't get behind (no pun intended) the tackiness of it, though I also partly admire her flaunting what she's got. She could have worn something just that clingy without the nude effect, though. Eh, maybe I'm getting old. Styling is good, even if the mermaid hair is kind of tired. 4/10

Stacy Keibler (with George Clooney) in Armani Prive: I imagine the stripes on this dress would be hard to pull off on someone less tall and slim. I think the dress is deceptively difficult to wear that way, so kudos to her. The hair is BORING. On the other hand, Clooney makes the best arm candy, so she's doing something right. 7/10

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture: This dress is controversial; I have heard the bodice described as looking like "red solo cups." Yikes. It is a bit weird in the boob area, and not falling quite right under the waist. Take away those elements, and you'd have a classic silhouette in a modern color palette. The clutch (or minaudiere, technically) is great, but her hair is just kinda there. All in all, a nice idea that failed in execution. It totally distracts from her gorgeousness, which is the worst part of all. 3/10

Rachel Weisz (with Daniel Craig) in Louis Vuitton: Okay, I love R. Weisz, and she has the other best arm candy of the night. But I cannot with a sheer long skirt over a miniskirt. It doesn't look as bad as it might, but I just... cannot. And aside from that, the look as no other real interest. Pretty hair, though; however, the lips are kind of a heavy color. Vuitton, stick to making bags. 2/10

Halle Berry in who knows what: Halle, bless you for looking like you did 15 years ago, but I cannot sign on to what this dress is doing to your boobs. It's a bit tacky, too. I love the colors, and her sassy hair and hoop earrings are fabulous. And it's not that she looks bad because that's not even possible. But this is a "no" for me. 5/10 because she's still Halle Berry.

Anne Hathaway: She looks... fine. (This picture kind of does a weird funhouse thing to her, so ignore that.) She's been taking some fashion risks lately, and though they haven't paid off all the time, they led me to expect more of her Golden Globes look. This is fresh and pretty and minimalist, but it's her big year and now is the time to amp it up some more. Though I can't give this a bad grade, it was my biggest disappointment of the night. 7/10

Taylor Swift in Donna Karan: Brava to her for stepping away from her usual virginal color palette. Other than the color, the gown is rather standard, and still needs pressing. But it's a step in the right direction. Maybe this signals that she'll stay single for a while and write songs about being independent, but somehow, I think not. Oh, and I want to slap that "I am such a diva" look off her face, so I am deducting for that. 6.5/10

Nicole Kidman in Alexander McQueen: Nice to see someone bring out the McQueen. I like how this has visual interest but then is minimalist at the bottom, and how she softened it with her hair. The sheer (or faux sheer) in the middle could be tacky, but she's too ladylike for it to look bad. I think you need at least a Master's degree in celebrity dressing to pull this off, and she does. 8/10

Claire Danes in Versace: Insert "red hot momma" joke here. Seriously, she had a baby a month ago, and I know she's a celebrity and was very thing to begin with, but DAMN. The dress gracefully emphasizes her curves and accentuates the glow she has from being a person who seems to have everything going right in her life. I might have softened the eye makeup because I don't think she neeeeds the smoky eye here, but it's a minor complaint. 9.5/10

Hayden Panettiere in Roberto Cavalli: Those of you who have read these commentaries from me before know how I feel about blondes in nude tones, which is.... zzzzz. Also, with this dress, the bottom doesn't seem to go with the top. I appreciate the attempt at a pop of color, but I think that pink clashes with the blush of the dress. And the hair just looks like a standard blow out. Meh. 4/10

Emily Blunt (with John Krasinski) in Michael Kors: I didn't think I liked this when I first saw it, but it's grown on me a bit. The clutch doesn't really go, and something about the shape of the bodice isn't quite as flattering as it could be, but it looks surprisingly good for gold lace with side cut-outs. 6/10

Helen Mirren in Badgley Mischka: Sometimes my prejudices get in the way of me being objective. All I can say is: LOOK AT HELEN MIRREN! BOW THE FUCK DOWN, MERE MORTALS. Oh, and I like her hair. 10/10 for being Helen Mirren.

Julianne Moore in Tom Ford (with her husband Bart Freundlich I presume, but the he wasn't identified in the pic I chose): Needs to be graded on a bit of a curve. Usually she chooses kind of out there looks that show she's aspiring to be something of a Tilda Swinton... and they usually miss the mark because Julianne has girl next door looks, even at her age. This works a bit better on her than past attempts, even if it is a bit severe. The shape is at least flattering, which is something that doesn't usually happen. The hair is a bit standard grande dame, though, which is too stuffy for this dress. 6/10

Amy Adams in Marchesa: A better attempt at the nude fishtail than Hayden's: it's a better dress, and Amy's hair is very pretty. Also, It's a bit better with her coloring, though I am still not in love with it. It's all very standard, but I can't really fault it. 7/10

Heidi Klum in Alexandre Vauthier: What Wonder Woman wore to her wedding. WHich is about par for the course for the Kluminator, actually. The gold looks like recycled tinsel. I mean, the woman looks hot, but it's a bit ridiculous. 5/10

Kristen Wiig: Doing her loose-haired, minimalist Kristen Wiig thing. Such a non-effort on her part I won't bother to grade it. She doesn't look bad, but I think a stylist could help her amp up her look. Wasted potential (or maybe she doesn't care... if so, fair enough.)

Salma Hayek in Gucci Première: It's a kind of fifties look, which emphasizes her va-va-voom without being vulgar, but I feel like the black makes it severe when it's crying out to be a fun look--in pink or red or something. Plus, she's got Serious Face while sporting a giant bow. It is to laugh. 5/10

Lea Michele: Hard to tell here, but on TV, she looked like am Oompa Loompa. Step away from the spray tanner, Lea. She usually wears ririduclously sexy stuff when her wheelhouse should really be cute girl next door. This strikes a nice balance between the two. Hair is pretty but super boring, though. I might have preferred an up-do to show off her shoulders. 6/10 point deducted for spray tan disaster.

Jessica Alba: The color is interesting, and not bad on her... since bridesmaid peach is not flattering on most people, that's something. The necklace is a bit much, as is the bottom, which looks haphazardly pinned in a way that screams Design School. The furry purse has got to go. 3/10

Jennifer Westfeldt (with Jon Hamm) in Naeem Khan: I most posted this for our daily RDA of Hamm, but JW looks pretty good. 7/10

Jessica Chastain in Calvin Klein: Sigh.... this girl only sporadically knows how to dress herself. This could have been great, but the hair is just plain odd, and a bodice that looks like deflated balloons is never a good idea. Uh, but the color is fantastic! Get thee to a better stylist. 4/10

Megan Fox in Dolce and Gabbana: Well, if anyone needs to wear this boring, boring color, it may as well be a brunette. But between the standard dress color and shape, and the standard hair, I just can't care about it. 5/10

Jennifer Garner in Vivienne Westwood Couture: Sometimes she can look awkward and dull, but this is not one of those times. It's not like earth shattering, but the dark red is nice with the sequins (bright red sequins would be too much) and she has pretty hair. No complaints. 8/10

Amy Poehler in Stella McCartney: Guess who's newly single! Brava to her for wearing pantsuit and hot heels. She is short and the pants are a bit short on her, but I understand the desire to show off the heels. A couple of inches on the hem would have helped though. 8/10

Tina Fey in L'Wren Scott: I was yelling "personal best" at the screen (until later--more below). It's her usual black and white, but the unsual length and great fit and AWESOME hair make it fierce. I like the one green ring, too. 9/10

Connie Britton in KaufmanFranco: I love Mrs. Coach, but I dearly wish this had been in a actual color. The prevalence of this non-color on the red carpet makes me want to weep. That being said, if anyone can do mermaid hair, it's her. 6/10

Nicole Richie in Naeem Khan: I have noticed that she has a talent for choosing covered-up looks that are different from what anyone else on a given red carpet is doing. I don't think this color was on anyone else last night, and I like it. I also like how something that could be so matronly is just... not, on her. The funky fringed purse helps keep it fresh. Points off for eyeshadow machining her dress. 7/10

Marion Cotillard in Dio Haute Couture: Good for her for trying a new silhouette. I think the mermaid dress is played out. I like the deconstructed nature of it, which may look ridiculous on some. Not sure I like the pin straight hair or the gold-orange shoes, though. 7/10

Kristen Bell in Jenny Packham: Jenny Packham should be shot for allowing the adorable K. Bell to wear a dishwater colored dress that makes her look so heavy up top. I know she's pregnant, but this could have been much more flattering in a color and with a lower neckline. I just want to take scissors to it. 3/10

Sienne Miller in Erdem: I applaud the deployment of a print, but this dress... could have been worn by Twiggy and probably should not be attempted by anyone else. It's also not flattering. 3/10

Adele in Burberry: I have no quibble with the general shape, or even that it's black. But the ruching around the waist looks weird, like it's poorly sewn. 4/10

Kaley Cuoco in Zuhair Murad: You can't do both the "blonde in nude" thing and use Morticia Adams's makeup artist. I guess at least the nude is in a pattern, but otherwise... I can't even. 2/10

Julianne Hough in Monique Lhuillier: The colors are not unusual, but that's a good choice because everything else about this is non-standard, and I like it. Her hair was probably inspired by her stint in Rock of Ages, but I think it's all kind of fun. Your milage may vary, I realize. 8/10

Julie Bowen in Halston: Nice color, but such a tiny woman shouldn't be wearing such a poorly fitted sack. A dress like this needs impeccable fit, and this is just not, which is a shame, because it's a nice idea. She also looks a little hunched, which makes me thing maybe the shoulder will slip down if she relaxes. 4/10

Sally Field in Alberta Ferretti: This is nothing earth-shattering, but she and Helen Mirren need to get together and write a book about looking fab at 60-plus. I think she puts everyone in the boring nude fishtails to shame, frankly. 8/10

Zooey Deschanel in Oscar de la Renta: The girl looks good in red, but as with Jennifer Lawrence, this is a nice vintage-y kind of gown that falls down a bit in the execution and final touches. The pearls make it too literally 50s prom, but on the other hand, the little gathering on the bottom is so small that it looks like a mistake, though I suspect it's an attempt to update the silhouette. And her hair is pretty much her usual hair. 5/10

Carla Gugino in Rami Al Ali: A standard silhouette that the interesting fabric elevates. No complaints. 8/10

Julianna Margulies in Pucci: This is an unfortunate angle on her, but she looked tiny and HOT in this on TV. Trust me. The hair is a bit severe. 7/10

Kelly Osbourne in Zac Posen: Oh look a fishtail dress in an even uglier nude than all the other nudes. Blah. 3/10

Kerry Washington in Miu Miu: I appreciate the almost minimalist nature of this, but it's so minimal as to be insignificant. I know some people loved it, and it might be smashing at a cocktail party. The hair is sad. 4/10

Lena Dunham in Zac Posen: Great attempt from her. I think she's learning how to dress her body. The color is striking, but I think the dress, while a decent shape, needs less going on. She too looks like she is desperately trying to keep the shoulders up. As she does more red carpets she will get more comfortable. 5/10

Sofia Vergara in Michael Cinco: Well, it's not a mermaid, but otherwise it's straight outta the Vergara-va-va-voom playbook. Point off for hair that looks in need of a trim.  5/10

Michelle Dockery in Alexandre Vauthier: Sometimes there is such a harmony between dress and a wearer that you have to wonder if the dress was designed just for her. This is one of those times... I think very few others, if anyone, could pull it off, but it perfectly highlights her unusual beauty. 9/10

Fey and Poheler, take 2: They both look great, but I feel kiind of bad for Amy (sine this may be a personal best), but Tina Fey in this dress gets my best dressed of the night. It's not an unusual dress, aside from the smashing color, but no one else looked like that last night. She looked so tiny around the middle, and just so hot in general, that I have to give it the coveted 10/10. I couldn't keep my eyes off her. As for Amy, great job, but like I said, anyone would be overshadowed in this case. 8/10

Jodie Foster in Giorgio Armani: Hey did you hear she's single? And 50? Well, single and 50 never looked so good!. 9/10

Lucy Liu in Caroline Herrera: Your mileage may vary again, but this is just want you want to see on the red carpet: a doctoral-level dresser wearing a dress that is A. not like anyone else's and B. something no one else could pull off. Marie Antoinette goes to the Golden Globes, beeyotches! 9.5/10 Not sure about the braid.

Amada Seyfried in Givenchy: This girl has the most gorgeous eyes ever. WEAR SOME FREAKING COLOR TO SHOW THEM OFF. This just  makes them--and her--fade into the background. 4/10

Eva Longoria in Pucci: Charo goes to a funeral. 3/10

Rosario Dawson: I appreciate the color and the sleekness, but the middle just seems less than flattering. 4/10

Naomi Watts (with Liev Schreiber) in Zac Posen: I like this, and would love it if there were no train. The silhouette should speak for itself. 7/10

Olivia Munn in Armani: This is.... interesting. Pretty, even, though the huge beads make the bodice a bit stiff. The hair and necklace are a miss. 6/10

Debra Messing in Donna Karan: Mama's curtains... at a funeral. Typical Messing, and over-accessorized, to boot. 4/10

Sarah Hyland in Max Azria Atelier: I know she is older than she looks, but she is too young-looking and tiny (if such a thing is possible) for this dress. And give your boobs a break--they look tortured, Sarah. 3/10

Sarah Paulson: She is not known as a fashionista, but this may be a personal best. It's black with some interest, but even the feathers don't turn it into tacky or cray-cray. (Again with the funhouse mirror picture). 7/10

Kate Hudson: Crystal Carrington... at a funeral. But I kinda like it! I thin I'd harte it on a lot of other people, once again proving that fashion is subjective and not an exact science. Hey, it's not nude. 7/10

Julia Louis-Dreyfus in Vera Wang: This woman doesn't age. And this dress is just very, very pretty. Black gives the nude some interest. No complaints. 8/10

Morena Baccarin in Valentino: This woman is smoking hot! Why is dressing like her mother? Who is probably also smoking hot, but still. 4/10

Alyssa Milano: My eyes! 3/10

Helena Bonham Carter: I don't grade her, because HBC is HBC and doesn't really fall on the curve at all. Gotta love the lips purse.

Rebecca Miller with Daniel Day-Lewis: Of course, he would be married to someone who dresses like that. I kinda like it--she's not a movie star, so why not? 6/10
